Weeping Sage

Buddleja Auriculata

Weeping Sage tree is a common name for Buddleja auriculata, an evergreen shrub native to South Africa.

It has a graceful weeping habit and will grow quickly to about 4m tall and 4m wide, and the beautiful glossy, dark green leaves have silver undersides.

From mid-winter to spring, it produces profuse spikes of tiny, tubular, sweetly-scented cream, orange or lilac flowers.

Weeping Sage is not fussy about soil but will benefit from added compost and an occasional feeding with a balanced fertilizer.

It is hardy to frost and tolerates drought, making it a great water-wise plant.
